ALPINE'S ARTWALK & GALLERY NIGHT 2008 APPROACHES!

Don't miss this fun event-- browse the streets of Alpine, TX for art, music, food and entertainment as the small West Texas town decks its businesses with art of all flavors.  It's a great opportunity to do your holiday shopping, to see the latest in art, to hang out with the locals.  (A caveat:  Serious collectors swarm the galleries.  If you can't make it in person (or even if you can) preview Lindy's work here, then contact the gallery to reserve the piece that speaks to you !  Keri will be happy to discuss framing and shipping options with you.)

MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ALPINE FOR THE WEEKEND BEFORE THANKSGIVING, November 21 & 22.

LINDY SEVERNS is KIOWA GALLERY'S FEATURE ARTIST-- See PREVIEWS OF LINDY'S FALL 2008 COLLECTION. A hint: Lindys are covering the main wall this year. WOW!  (A couple of these Big Bend landscapes are BIG.... Really BIG.  Some are postcard-sized. ALL share the magnificence of Far West Texas!)

How are paintings priced?

This is a tough call for both artist and gallery. The artist must earn enough to keep painting without the distraction of needing to look for work. The gallery has a significant overhead-- keeping the doors open takes a continuous flow of money.

Most artists and galleries sincerely believe art shouldn't be priced out of reach. We want everyone to enjoy fine art, in some form or another. Prints, greeting cards and miniature originals help make this possible.

Supply and demand plays a role in pricing, too. Paintings are unique creations that consume great chunks of an artist's life. A big painting takes a bigger chunk of time. Appreciate that fact and the sometimes pricy tags on paintings make more sense.

(Don't forget that frameable deluxe, oversized greeting cards featuring Lindy's art retail for under $10.  Check the studio store for this month's selections!)
